Summer Vacations are Back

Summer weather calls for cute summer sandals. Although I have never been a Birkenstocks girl- too hippie for me- I do envy the comfort factor. These styles below offer the flat, wide-foot contour bed comfort but a bit more refined.

Tory Burch's Miller Cloud Sandals are great and come in many colors. These are my favorite colors in Gold and Black Patent leather.

For a dressier look, these ones from Chloe, the Ingrid Footbed Mule, with a stacked heel, work well. They do run small so size up.

For evening, a pair of jeans or easy dress can be dressed up with Stuart Weitzman's cork heeled sandal. It has a manageable 2" heel and wider square toe.

The 90's trends are still going strong. The slip dress, a 90's essential, is easy to wear on a hot summer evening or easily paired with a jean jacket or leather jacket if needed Bernadette has this slip dress with a

beautiful floral pattern. Reminds me of a Monet painting.

This puffed sleeve top from Ganni has a very flattering square neck and smocked bodice that pairs very well with white or denim jeans. The soft plaid gives this trendy style a preppy, east coast feel.

For the beach, this cute terry cloth ensemble by Suzie Condi has you covered. Fun to see terry cloth coming back, reminds me of my childhood. Comes in dusty lavender and jelly bean. Top and bottom sold separately.

Book Pick: Bel Canto by Ann Patchett

New releases tend to get our attention, but I also have a list of books I always wanted to read. Bel Canto was one of them. It's a story about love found in an unexpected place- during a hostage situation somewhere in South America. As hours turn into days, the hostages and terrorists begin to get used to this new normal. Cultural barriers are broken down and real connections are made. But it wasn't meant to last.
